KEY OPINION

• It’s a play on A&M and Kentucky to stay under the total of 50.5 when the teams meet Saturday afternoon in SEC conference play at Kyle Field in College Station. I don’t think the Kentucky offense has enough to challenge the Aggies defense and with LSU on-deck next week, maybe the A&M offense is in look-ahead mode come the 2H of a game versus the Wildcats it should win comfortably. Play to 50.

• This is a play on Virginia Tech laying a field goal when it travels to College Park to oppose Maryland on Saturday afternoon. Both programs have excelled early on. I’ll trust the Hokies and James Franklin in a game his teams normally win. Grab the -3.

KEY OPINION

• This is a play on the Carolina Panthers laying two-and-a-half points when it visits the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Carolina failed myself and readers last week but I’m calling for a rebound here. Atlanta is unsettled at QB. Carolina can’t start 0-2. The Panthers found success versus Chicago offensively but the defense struggled. Atlanta, offensively, is not Chicago.

• This is a play on the Chicago Bears at home laying 4.5 points when it hosts the Minnesota Vikings Sunday at Soldier Field. Very simply, I don’t think the Bears will afford the Vikings with a pathway to victory as the Packers did last week.

• This is a play on the visiting Green Bay Packers laying three-and-a-half points when it visits the New York Jets Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Very simply, I’ll take the Green Bay coaches and players at face value after the meltdown in Minnesota where they are now saying it’s just one game and it’s no big deal. Ok, cool. Then go win this game.

• This is a play on the Denver Broncos at home laying two-and-a-half points when it hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday afternoon at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. It’s Denver for me citing the historical context of its home field advantage and that I don’t think the Broncos will start 0-2, superfluous to the fact the Jaguars are a quality opponent.

• UVA: 8th nationally in Scoring Defense (8.0 PPG/A), 4th in Total Defense (168.0 YPG/A), 5th in YPP/A & 8th in TO-Margin/PG (+2.0).

MY TAKE

It’s a play on the Virginia Cavaliers and the West Virginia Mountaineers to stay under the posted total of 53.5 when the two programs meet on a neutral field Saturday. UVA has shown to have a proper defense thus far, even if against sketchy competition. It has allowed 11 points in two games. WVU is run-heavy and doesn’t throw the ball well at -all. This is easily the best competition the Mountaineers have faced so far. Who knows how an already spotty offense will respond? For all that, it’s a try on WVU-UVA Un 53.5 for me as the Top Choice pursuant to The 7 Best v2.0.
