It feels like just yesterday Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy to conclude the 2025/26 term. This summer expedited quickly with the World Cup and transfer window business. Here and now, I’m back again to rejoin the winning ethos — with optimism to include — satisfaction of the *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports. Let’s open the new term expertly.

The BTTS Special saw mixed results in 2025/26. There were some nice wins and some bad losses. But that was the entire portfolio, wasn’t it?

In total, for the whole of the competition, success in the BTTS market was instrumental in Darkseid Sports delivering to the tune of a 58.2% POB% in straight, published plays last term. Now, I’m still undeterred in my pursuit of delivering winners on the regular in this market.

We are going to convert these as the term progresses. I won’t be denied. Pricing was an issue near the end of last term as shops made the market expensive to play. I’m still comfortable playing this market to -160, as true in all my markets.

Its manager and top scorer return. There’s continuity there. It seems this is a LUFC poised to stay-up through the long term. The new boss at NFO for the total of his PL tenure surrenders the number. Now at a new club? Opening day jitters? Maybe he’s not set on a consistent XI yet? I think Leeds can get to four and I’ll say no more.

MY TAKE

For the *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* for MW1, it’s a play on Manchester United to be held Under 5.5 Corners when the Red Devils joust away at MKM Stadium in the early fixture Saturday versus Hull City. It’s the early fixture. The Tigers are newly promoted and are at home. Nothing about the way United has operated on and off the pitch this summer can ever be associated with urgency. The Starting XI is incorporating new players in the midfield and I’m not even sure who the 9 will be on Saturday. So for all that, Man Utd Under 5.5 Corners (+11) is your *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* on the first Saturday of the new season for Premier League Matchweek 1.

I’m not happy with how this club has handled its summer business in the aftermath of signing Santos and Tielemans.. I would feel better if/when United gets the Baleba deal done.

I’m pleased to have Marcus Rashford back. He’s part of the United story. And let’s be honest, there are only so few clubs globally who can afford his wages. I think he makes the Red Devils better. I’m optimistic Michael Carrick — a former teammate of his — can unlock his premium form. I really like the prospect of Rashford, Cunha and Dorgu getting the time on the left. My one issue isn’t with Rashford, it’s with the club. For Man Utd to play this off as an honest summer transaction — where it dictates what can be spent on other players — is chronically weird and disingenuous at best. United had plenty of time, years. to network and ultimately find Rashford a permanent club. It failed.
Imagine a world where Man Utd isn’t one of the top 10 spenders during the summer window. Just wow. Note: this is before the Baleba situation is finalized.
