LAS VEGAS — Here it is. The 2026 World Cup is well into the knockout rounds now. Today is Monday at the Round of 16 and, in-total, we’ve seen some sterling performances both in the team and individual ethos in what are the decision days of the big tournament.

MY TAKE
This just feels like a spot where it’s prudent to get involved with the United States in the same-game ethos when it hosts Belgium tonight in Seattle. Very briefly, Belgium is past it. This is a descending project whose core players have mileage on them. They were fortunate to get through a suspect group. The United States is a step-up in class to what Belgium has faced previously. I’m expecting a performance from the USMNT tonight, given everything.
