LAS VEGAS — Here it is. The 2026 World Cup is in the knockout rounds now. Group Stage play is in the rearview, Canada has beaten South Africa to be the first to advance to the round of 16 and in the aftermath we still have most of the round of 32 left to decipher.
From the betting and investment perspective, the daily grind of match betting within the round of 32 is now the main focus. MY TAKE
This just feels like a spot where it’s prudent to get involved with the over the Shots on Target total when Brazil and Japan play Monday afternoon in Houston, Texas, USA. A bit low this total, me thinks. Anything under 9.5 and I’m in. The short of this Brazil is a creative team who will get theirs. What reason is there why the Selecao wouldn’t have the big share of the possession and the overall shot total. Japan will have to take the offensive to match. These two nations combined for 14 Goals Scored in Group Stage play. The history of both these nations at the big tournament says we can clear this number. For all this, it’s a try in the over the SoT total for me here.

In the premium fixture on Knockout Monday, I ended up passing on MOR to advance. This could go either way. Both nations are very good. Both can go far beyond the R32. I’ll pass, watch as a fan and rely on my Futures portfolio involving both nations (released at v1.0).
