The World Cup is the biggest and most storied international football competition there ever was.

LAS VEGAS — Here it is. The 2026 World Cup is here. It’s football heritage this time around as global football’s biggest international team event comes to the United States, Canada and Mexico. 16 host cities from as far west as Vancouver to as far east as Miami with Mexico City between will serve as the origination for this World Cup. All 48 teams with qualifications for the tournament are based across the 16 host cities plus an additional 25 non-host communities, in auxiliary. It takes a village to put this competition on and to make the event a spectacle, right?

Anywho, moving on, I’m bullish on my chances for delivering winners and +EV results this World Cup. I’m poised to get started in the Tournament Futures market.

I am choosing to go with England as the third choice albeit cognizant to the fact not many — if any— are giving this Three Lions side a chance. I’m then choosing to play against Germany and Argentina. I am choosing to do the job with England, Brazil, Portugal and Netherlands. The short of it is I think these clubs have the roster and specifically, the attacking and midfield prowess to have a successful tournament. You’re going to have to score to win in this World Cup.

The simple fact is the matter is if England is to advance to the final, its most likely opponent would be France. One could also bet this with Spain, but as of this writing, anything at 20:1 or better — my threshold in this market pursuant to this project — is a whisper of a dream. An England – Netherlands final would be profitable. A Portugal – France final works too.

I’ve been down on El Tri for some time. It’s a descending project. I think the USMNT is better. I like Columbia out of CONMEBOL better. if Mexico wasn’t a host nation and had stronger opposition, I may have selected them to go out in the Group Stage. One can absolutely make a profit investing in both positions here.

Very simply, Brazil must finish first and Morocco must finish second for this position to be satisfied. I don’t see Haiti or Scotland getting into the top two here. Here stateside, the big story heading into the World Cup is the quality of the USMNT. European fans are also weary of American start times for the matches. In the above photo, a 2-nil USMNT victory over England (on 6/9/93) in the build to the 1994 World Cup is depicted. This win gave the USMNT momentum heading into the tournament (on home soil) where it would advance out of the Group Stage. Since this moment, the program has made steady progression in all areas of the sport. If England wins on this day and Columbia beats the USMNT in the ‘94 World Cup, maybe just maybe we aren’t speaking about the USMNT, well, at all? Surely not enough to worry about start times. Maybe the car never gets out of the garage?
