We go again.

LAS VEGAS — Here it is, with good tidings and Holiday cheer. The Festive Fixtures are here. Saturday through Monday Premier League action is upon us and Matchweek 17 is all systems go. Saturday’s EPL card is an absolute blockbuster. From the betting perspective, MW16 saw a continuation of standards with a 2-1 ledger including satisfaction of the *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports*.
Anywho, moving on, I’m bullish on my chances at the weekend. Here is the deal for MW16:
THE TIMELINE
COINCEDENTAL STADIUM of the WEEK
A series depicting a stadium which corresponds to a play featured in The Premier League Prologue actions to open the show.
- Villa Park, Birmingham, England.

MW17 POSITIONS PL
*Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* RECORD: 7-7-2 (Record displayed in Win-Loss-Push format)
2025-26 PUBLISHED BET RECORD: 24-23-2 (All plays, W-L-P format).
- Straight Bets: 24-16-2
- Parlays: 0-6 (?!?)
- Proposition (SoT, ATG, etc.): 0-1
These results are unacceptable, embarrassing and so far beneath established standards. I hate it. I couldn’t even bring myself to list the percentages. Obviously, the time is now to go on a run and stack on the success from MW14-16.

— ⚽️: “THE BTTS SPECIAL”
- WOLBRE BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (-25)
📚: William Hill/Caesars

KEY METRICS
- WOLBRE: 60 G/A aggregate amongst both clubs.
KEY OPINION
This is a play on the fact the data and mathematics say both parties will allow a goal in this match. I also believe when bad teams get together weird things happen.
MY TAKE
The BTTS Special has seen mixed results thus far but I’m undeterred in the pursuit of delivering winners. Not sure what I’m supposed to say really re: my take on The BTTS Special: I think both parties can score a goal in its respective match.

— ⚽️: TOTLIV OVER 2.5 GOALS (-50)
📚: Multi

KEY METRICS:
- TOT: T5/20 in Goals Scored (25) &T5/20 in GLS/90 (1.50).
- LIV: 4/20 in Goals Scored (26). LFC is 2/20 in Progressive Carries (369) & 1/20 in Progressive Passes (812). The Reds are 16/20 in GK/SV% (63.9).
SUPERFACT

KEY OPINION
- I just think there is value in backing the over here at any number under 3 with a price under -160. I also think Arne Slot will want his Reds to deliver a performance in the absence of the great, albeit embattled Mo Salah.
— ⚽️: AVL RACE TO TWO (2) GOALS (+15)
📚: William Hill/Caesars

KEY METRICS
- AVL: T7/20 in GS (24). Villa is T5/20 in GA (17) & GA/90 (1.06).
- MUN: T15/20 in Goals Allowed (25), GLS/90 (1.50) & npxG/90-A (1.31).
SUPERFACT

KEY OPINION
- For me, I just can’t get past the AFCON defections (Mbeumo, Amad), the injuries to the United backline and the timing of the Bruno Fernandes controversy for me to back the Red Devils here. Plus, bluntly, Villa is the better side right now and is in better form. It might even have the better manager, too.

— ⚽️BB: MASON MOUNT 1+ SHOTS ON TARGET (-10)
📚: William Hill/Caesars

KEY METRICS
- Mount: Three goals L8 PL matches 1+ SoT in three of last four PL matches.

SUPERFACT

KEY OPINION
- I see this as a spot where Mason Mount can have influence in this match on behalf of Manchester United.
MY TAKE
For the *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* for MW17, it’s a play on Mason Mount (Manchester United) having 1+ Shots on Target when Man Utd plays Aston Villa Sunday afternoon at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. Pretty Straightforward, really. United has injuries and AFCON defections so A) I think Mount will feature. He should start. If he comes in at 60 minutes, so be it and B) I think he will have an impact on the match regardless. Dare I say he has to for United to be competitive versus a strong Villa side. 1 SoT at this price is very manageable and benevolent on behalf of the bookmakers. For all that, Mount 1+ SoT (-10) is your *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* for the Premier League Matchweek 17.

FC Record YTD: 8-5
— ⚽️: AVL 90+ (+10)
I passed on this to focus on other positions, specifically with AVL in the Race to Two Goals market.

BEYOND THE TABLE
You can get the Premier League Table anywhere. It’s still superfluous at MW17. I’ll check it out next month. But a Table built on xG is something we can use for Sports Investment purposes in the now and Squawka has done solid, practical work in bringing us this PL Table built on xG.

FUTURISTICS REVISITED
It’s tostadas at MW17. Although it is nice to have Cole Palmer back. Amad creates and has been fine for United but the AFCON absence is detrimental. Brentford has vastly exceeded any expectation anybody had. I had it wrong there, as of now.
