We go again.

LAS VEGAS — Here it is. The Premier League weekend is back and Matchweek 9 is all systems go. Friday through Sunday fixtures. Hopefully I have some winners for you now. MW8 was a disasterclass with a 1-3 ledger. Worse, among the misses was the *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports*. I’m looking to rebound with the volume and featured plays. The only positive to speak of currently is The BTTS Special is on a three-Matchweek winning streak.
THE TIMELINE

“The Alt-Total Deluxe”
- BRELIV ⬇️3.5 Match Goals
- ARSCRY ⬇️3.5 Match Goals
📚: William Hill/Caesars

KEY METRICS
- BRELIV: LIV ranks 6/20 in aggregate xGA (9.2). BRE ranks 9/20 in the same metric (10.0).
- ARSCRY: ARS 1/20 in GK SV% (83.8%), 1/20 in npxG/90-A (0.59) & tops the table in aggregate xGA (4.7).
KEY OPINION
This is a play on the sketchy form of Liverpool lately playing away at try-hard opponent with Tuesday UCL action looming (home v Real Madrid) and the defensive rock which is Arsenal looking to maintain form at home, with respect to its opponent. Mind you, the Gunners have the early Tuesday UCL fixture looming too (at Slavia Praha).
MY TAKE
This is the debut of “The Alt-Total Deluxe” for the current term. It’s designed to be a two or three-leg choice at +EV money where I’m manipulating Totals. This is the closest thing you can get to a Teaser in soccer betting. Beyond that, I don’t get what there is to say really: I think both matches can stay under these compromised Totals.

GL🤝Play Responsibly.

📚: WH/Caesars, FanDuel

KEY METRICS
- EVE: 8/20 in the table in aggregate xG (10.8) & 7th in npxG/90. Toffees rank T16/20 in aggregate Expected xGA (11.9) & 15/20 in npxG/90-A (1.31).
- TOT: Ranks 7/20 in Progressive Carries (153) & 9th in Progressve Passes (303). Spurs rank 6/20 in GLS/90 (1.62).
KEY OPINION
- I see this as a spot where both sides can get on the score sheet here. Everton at home (7/20 in aggregate xG) metrically is good for a score. Spurs have the process via progressive actions and the average scoring ledger to satisfy its end of the wager as well. I’m trusting the data, practicality of the wager and the eye test here.
MY TAKE
For the *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* for MW9, it’s a play on Both Teams To Score in the Everton — Tottenham match Sunday evening at Hill Dickinson Stadium right smack on the River Mersey. The Toffees should be good for a goal or more here, that’s what the metrics say at least. Spurs didn’t score in its mid-week UCL joust versus Monaco at the Stade Louis so I’m thinking Tottenham will look to rebound here. The metrics say TOT should score as well and beyond Everton’s outstanding GK (Jordan Pickford), EVE isn’t known for keeping clean sheets. EVETOT BTTS is your *Best Bet by Darkseid Sports* for the Premier League Matchweek 9.

FC Record YTD: 2-3

I passed on this to focus on other positions. I guess there is some reservation in how Man Utd deals with credit and praise in the aftermath of the great, shock win last week at Anfield. Let me see how the Red Devils handle success here.

BEYOND THE TABLE
You can get the Premier League table anywhere. It’s superfluous at MW9. I might check it out in January. But a table built on xG is something we can use for Sports Investment purposes in the now and Squawka has done solid, practical work in bringing us this PL table built on xG.
