As always, Good Luck and Play Responsibly.

LAS VEGAS — Here it is. The College Football season is back and in full go. College Football is great. Let’s celebrate that this weekend. We got a small taste of it last week for Week 0. The Ireland game (ISU/K-ST) was a treat but featured poor defensive play I thought. Well, here we are for the first full-rate, full-schedule weekend of the CFB season and I am absolutely ready for it. I have a three-pack of positions for you now.
This season, I am being more efficient in my delivery and won’t waste your time or mine with fluff contents focused on superfluous matters.
THE TIMELINE

— 211: ALABAMA (-13.5) at Florida State
KEY METRICS
- ALA: Took 3 L’s to unranked opponents last season. I think ALA will be more buttoned-up to this approach this season.
- FSU: The Seminole’s 2-10 record last season was its worst in 52 years.
MY TAKE
It’s a play on the visiting Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday, laying the points. Lay it, play it. Eye it. Try it. ALA is in a different class than FSU who is coming off a train wreck of a season. I like the new Tide QB and I think ALA is live in the SEC and in the national picture. I’ll need to see vast improvement before I’m reluctant to fade FSU. Should be all Alabama.

— 232: Notre Dame at MIAMI (+2.5)
KEY METRICS
- UM: Circa 1936 (85 seasons), Miami (FL) is 56-28-1 on Opening Day (65.9%)
- UM: Circa 1936 (85 seasons), Miami (FL) has played 71 true home; season-opening games. Its record in those games is 52-18-1 (73.2%).
- ND: The Fighting Irish are 0-6 in its L6 true road games at Miami (FL) circa 1980. Its last win at UM was in 1977.
MY TAKE
It’s a play on the Miami Hurricanes as a short home underdog come Sunday. I’ll back the Canes citing I think Miami has the more proven commodity at Quarterback and it is on its home field. I’m bullish on this UM team. Mario Cristobal has to get it right this time around. I fully expect UM to contend for a CFB Playoff spot and ACC title, even if Clemson is the favorite. I think the Canes defense will be better than last. It had adds in the portal in the secondary which it desperately needed. UM’s big season starts with a big win Sunday. Consider M/L action too.

*TOP CHOICE*

— 155/156: Miami (OH) at Wisconsin
*OVER 39.5 POINTS*
KEY METRICS
- UW: 23.1 PPG/A, 342.7 YPG/A, 5.5 YPP/A, 165.0 RY-PG/A, 4.6 YPC/A, 62.5% Opp. QB CMP%/A in 2024-25.
- M-OH: Returns just four starters on defense and zero starters on offense from last year’s team.
MY TAKE
It’s a play on over the total as the Week 1 Top Choice pursuant to The College Football Prologue. I think both new QB’s should find success here. I need to see it from the Wisconsin defense. This unit has really fallen off in recent years. The Redhawks are led by 7th-year QB Dequan Finn, who played at Baylor and Toledo previously. I’m thinking his experience should equate to some level of scoring for M-OH. Here, we have a very manageable number to go over. I’d play it to 40.5.

LEAN/PASS (CUT): Ohio State ATS (tOSU)
CREATOR’S NOTE: It’s Week 1 you guys. There simply isn’t any data, digital cinema (film) or metrics to go by. I’m going on “feel” and on past data and how I think it translates into a new season. Pardon the vague “My Take” series. If you’re looking for long form general team previews, this is not the place for you.
Good Luck 🤜🤛Play Responsibly
FUTURISTICS
*CFB SEASON WIN TOTAL*
— ALA OVR 9.5 WINS (-25,-30)
📚: WH, STN

MY TAKE
Big year on-deck in Tuscaloosa. It’s play on over 9.5 season wins here. I like Ty Simpson at QB. I like the roster in total. The HC has to have a big year. This schedule is manageable. I like that Texas and Georgia are more ballyhooed. Flying under the radar, I’m expecting a huge season for Alabama. This is a rare occasion where (eagerly) I’ll lay the juice for a few months.
Roll Tide.
