As always, Good Luck and Play Responsibly

This is the 19th edition of the Super 5. The Super 5 Record YTD sits at 36-60-1 with a Top Choice record of 9-9-1. Pursuant to the CCHC which started about two months ago, the Super 5 from Darkseid Sports sits at 17-30, 5-3 Top Choice, 19.5 Points. The scoring is 1 point per win, half point per push, 1.5 points per Top Choice win. Very sadly and to the lamest extent possible, the competition recently was made a private, illegitimate endeavor hidden behind a paywall with private lines and no transparency of action, movement, etc. Hate to see it.
The premise of the Super 5 is to release my 5 best positions — which I bet myself with my own money, anybody who tells you otherwise is lying and wouldn’t say it to my face— across College Basketball’s best leagues. This competition is (usually) not one for action on smaller leagues. I do this to be better prepared for the NCAAT, which we are now deep into. Since I am totally excluded publicly in the sports betting space, I mirrored my results against contestants in the CCHC, which has an astute field.
This all-time image from the NCAA Tournament is the cover photo for my X account. Follow me there. I’m not hard to find.
Some of my favorite players from my favorite teams who wore 5. I should have included Edgerrin James at Miami (FL)…

One of the best, singular Saturdays in all of Sports is here.

RANDOM CBB X POSTS

When I say random CBB posts I goddam mean it.
Dickie V says to be ready for Florida – Duke as Monday soon come.
One of the major storylines to this season was the ascension of Jon Scheyer as one of the nation’s best coaches.

SATURDAY SUPER 5 RECORD: 36-60-1 TOP CHOICE RECORD: 9-9-1
CCHC REFLECTIVE: 17-30, 5-3 19.5

I acknowledge the results haven’t been there and this term is a loss in totality. This is not what I am accustomed to at all in this market. But I’m in it to finish strong, and back or fade, I stand behind my contents and how I present my actions. I sell you nothing. I’ve been nothing but open, forthright and transparent. I am a feel good story. Right then, The Plays. -T

SATURDAY

POTENCY PLAY (10-7 YTD)

The P2 gained national recognition and reached landmark status with its 10th win for the term. As such, citing public demand, I’m working on methods to transition the Potency Play into other markets. Stay tuned. Here, it serves as the second of two positions for the Final Four.

**For the CCHC Reflective, where one play reigns above the others on the weekly ledger, the FLA/AUB UNDER 160 will serve as the Final Four Top Choice**

THE PROPDUSTER SPECIAL

*Houston at Duke*

KHAMAN MALUACH ⬆️7.5 REBOUNDS (+08)

At its core, this is a play on Maluach not fouling out in regulation. I know Flagg and K2 get most of the Duke run, but let me tell you, the Houston bigs better be ready to rock and roll Saturday because the Man Man soon come. He’s cleared this number enough during the term overall for me to feel good at +EV. He’s the top rebounder aside from Cooper Flagg on a Blue Devils squad ranked 9th nationally in D-REB/For, 12th in T-DREB and 22nd T-REB. Top Tier rim protection, top tier leaping ability…all residue of a proper, prolific rebounder. Coincidentally, this is an NBA prospect whose future I’m bullish on. I’ll try Over 7.5 boards at plus money here. GL and Play Responsibly.
BETTORS’ NOTE: If a number goes against me and a re-bet is appropriate, I’ll post the corresponding actions on my X account. This hold true for ATS + TSR markets.
My Futures (National Title winner) portfolio for this CBB season. We’re talking steakhouse visits or pizza parties-level investment. Nothing of supremely major monies here. If you tail, even if at lesser odds, good luck and play responsibly.

DUKE 9:1

Got in preseason and collected paper tickets from all over. Missed out on 10:1. The last stand of my entire portfolio. I figure why even bother with the UH game as a bettor and just enjoy it as a fan. Let’s see where the UH joust is at HT before making any rash decisions.

If you follow me on X then you know I had plans for Duke. Of course that would include Chip investment. I TOLD YOU PRECISELY WHAT WOULD HAPPEN…
Follow me on X. The same holds true this year. This term for me is tostadas anyway. My team has Cooper Flagg. They do not. My team has K2, Man Man (big fan of 9) and proper depth. They do not.

TEXAS A&M 55, 60:1 (LOSS)

Collected in paper form from January to mid-February.

WISCONSIN 100:1 (LOSS)

Collected casually in small increments from early January to the line falling off a cliff late January into early February .

ADD: VCU 250:1 (LOSS)

You want to get weird? Let’s get weird. I liked VCU out of the A10. It’s a “Beverage Dollars Play” on VCU at a price. If you paid attention, VCU was a part of the Teaser Speical series at points during the term.

REGIONAL ACTIONS (TO WIN)

WEST: ST. JOHN’S 6:1 (LOSS)

MIDWEST: TENNESSEE +370 (LOSS)

Not great. -T

It’s time for your history lesson, folks.

It’s hard to get to the Final Four. Terry Dehere was great, is arguably SHU’s greatest player ever yet he couldn’t get the Pirates back to the promised land. Coincidentally, Seton Hall is active in the transfer portal as we sit here today.

Moreover, with local flavor, the more I think about it the more I like this hire. And I liked it to begin with. It may take time — check that: it likely will take time — but UNLV did good here. Follow Tim Brando on X.

GAMING PSA

Darkseid Sports is in agreement with the NCAA on this matter. Be a pro. Act like you’ve been there before. There is no place for harassing the student-athlete and that’s something I don’t do nor would condone. It’s one thing to playfully chide a team after a bet gone bad or to challenge coach/player on-field transgressions without bringing them into it publicly bad but to seek players out specifically — in any collegiate sport — is very weird and below board. Good day. -T

MY TAKE

I thought numerous entities in the sports-betting space really missed the mark in terms of coverage and storyline heading into this Final Four. There was not nearly enough Cooper Flagg run. You really hate to see it. The biggest deal as San Antonio Supremacy awaits is Cooper Flagg. Full stop. Full go. And from a lot of people on the subject, it was crickets. Very weird.

Follow Matt Norlander on X.
I thought this was an objective, nuanced take. Follow Jim Rome on X.
Excellent spot on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt.
