As always, Good Luck and Play Responsibly

This is the 14th edition of the Super 5. The Super 5 Record YTD sits at 25-39-1 with a Top Choice record of 6-6-1. Pursuant to the CCHC which started a month ago, the Super 5 from Darkseid Sports sits at 7-13, 2-2 Top Choice, 8 Points. The scoring is 1 point per win, half point per push, 1.5 points per Top Choice win.
The premise of the Super 5 is to release my 5 best positions — which I bet myself with my own money, anybody who tells you otherwise is lying and wouldn’t say it to my face— across College Basketball’s bigger leagues. This competition is (usually) not one for action on smaller leagues. I do this to be better prepared for the NCAAT. IF I do dip into the lower leagues, it’s to fulfill S5 requirements. Since I am totally excluded publicly in the sports betting space, I mirror my results against contestants in the CCHC. If they want to focus on smaller league so be it. The thing about that is: most bettors have no interest betting those games
The current CCHC standings. I have much work to do… The CCHC returns next week for the NCAA tournament.

RANDOM CBB X POSTS

At the conclusion of College Basketball’s regular season, the Duke Blue Devils would be my selection as the top overall seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. In a supremely tight race, the difference between Duke and Auburn was the Blue Devils win and cover versus the Tigers on 12/04 of this CBB term. Duke’s win versus UNC-CH for the 3rd time this season in the ACC Tournament — without Cooper Flagg — solidified the fact this is a deep and talented team.
At the conclusion of College Basketball’s regular season, Cooper Flagg is my selection for National Player of the Year. Hopefully he is OK to return for the tournament.
Early March was when the choice became oh so vividly clear. Obviously, if the ankle forces him out that’s an immense, bordering on unrecoverable loss for the Blue Devils.
At the conclusion of College Basketball’s regular season, St. John’s Head Coach Rick Pitino is my selection for National Coach of the Year. Very simply: he scaled the heights and brought the Johnnies back.
At the conclusion of College Basketball’s regular season, the SEC is my and the obvious selection for League of the Year. What more needs to be said?
Texas could make it 14 for the SEC!

CREIGHTON (+6.5) at St. John’s

Tough card on this Saturday. I like the Blue Jays more in the TSR market (hence why CREI isn’t Top Choice). It’s a play against the emotions of the spot for SJU.

Saturday Teaser Specials. Mixed results this term.

*2TM 6PT TSR*

CREIGHTON +12.5

DUKE pk

*2TM 6PT SGT*

Wisconsin +9.5

UW/MSU OVER 138.5

My Futures (National Title winner) portfolio for this CBB season. We’re talking steakhouse visits or pizza parties-level investment. Nothing of supremely major stuff here. If you tail, even if at lesser odds, good luck and play responsibly.

DUKE 9:1

Got in preseason and collected paper tickets from all over. Missed out on 10:1.

If you follow me on X then you know I had plans for Duke. Of course that would include Chip investment.

TEXAS A&M 55, 60:1

Collected in paper form from January to the recent line move in mid-February.

WISCONSIN 100:1

Collected casually in small increments from early January to the line falling off a cliff last month. I still like UW-Madison as much or more than anyone in the B1G.

ADD: VCU 250:1

You want to get weird? Let’s get weird. I like VCU out of the A10 wholesale. It’s a “Beverage Dollars Play” on VCU at a price for me. If you were paying attention, you would know VCU was a part of the Teaser Speical series at points during the term. They’ve now garnered plenty of casual media run.

VCU is getting respect now in casual media circles. There should be no scenario where VCU doesn’t make the Tourney.

TEAM of the WEEK

*A new series featuring great teams of yesteryear in College Basketball designed to educate you the reader who may not be familiar with the great teams of this sport’s past*

One of the great teams ever in College Basketball. Indiana is CBB royalty and a Blue Blood always. I really hope the Hoosiers get this hire right and return to its former standard.

Player of the Week

*A new series featuring great players of yesteryear in College Basketball designed to educate you the reader who may not be familiar with the great players of this sport’s past*

James Worthy was an absolutely sublime College Basketball player. He made it look easy. It was like the game he was playing was in slow-motion…that’s how it looked. Of all the players in CBB annals who played at that wretched school in Chapel Hill, none bothered me more than Worthy. I wanted him on my team.

IN MEMORIAM

RIP

Let’s Go Duke
