As always, Good Luck and Play Responsiblyqe

This is the tenth edition of the Super 5. The Super 5 Record YTD sits at 21-28-1 with a Top Choice record of 5-4-1. Pursuant to the CCHC which started last week, the Super 5 from Darkseid Sports sits at 3-2, 1-0, 3.5 Points.
The premise of the Super 5 is to release my 5 best positions — which I bet myself with my own money — across College Basketball’s biggest leagues. This competition is not one for action on smaller leagues. I do this to be better prepared for March. Since I am totally excluded publicly in the space, I mirror my results against contestants in the CCHC. If they want to focus on smaller league so be it.
The aftermath of last week.
The CCHC standings, as of this writing. Darkseid Sports would have 3.5 points. VSiN and Circa do an outstanding job of putting this competition on. Well done.

CBB PRIMER

A random Dick Vitale appreciation post. You can’t tell the story of College Basketball without him. He is a hero to me in the sport. The main lesson I’ve taken from this man in 35+ years of watching/listening to him is if you’re passionate about what you’re doing then anything is possible. -T
With all due respect to the fine coaches on this list, I have real concerns regarding the exclusion of Texas A&M’s Buzz Williams.
The latest bracket forecast from Mike DeCourcy.

My Futures (National Title winner) portfolio for this CBB season. We’re talking steakhouse visits or pizza parties-level investment. Nothing of supremely major stuff here. If you tail, even if at lesser odds, good luck and play responsibly.

DUKE 9:1

Got in preseason and collected paper tickets from all over. Missed out on 10:1. The thinking was simple: why not dream the impossible dream with Cooper Flagg? Maybe his ascension would include a national title? Stranger things. As it turns out, he’s the best player in America and Duke has a shot. The Blue Devils are balanced and whilst potent offensively, this Duke side defends and defends superbly. The health of forward Mailq Brown is key as March soon come.

If you follow me on X then you know I had plans for Duke. Of course that would include Chip investment.

TEXAS A&M 55, 60:1

Collected in paper form from January to the recent line move in mid-February. Let’s go over the negatives first: 315th nationally FG%, 312th 3PT% and 298th FT%. These are not metrics I normally endorse or invest on. But what the Aggies do well, they do masterfully: 2nd nationally O-REB, 18th T-REB, 31st D-REB/A. The Aggies defend as it ranks 18th nationally in FT%-A. They are relentless on the glass, have won on the road, seem to play to the moment and Buzz Williams has them punching above its weight.

A&M Hoops on X. The Aggies have awesome gear. FWIW.

WISCONSIN 100:1

Collected casually in small increments from early January to recent line cliff-fall. UW-Madison is the top FT% team nationally — a statistic which matters to me. It’s T80 and T55 respectively in FG%/3PT%. This is not your classic brand of Wisconsin basketball. These guys can score and, specifically, guard John Tonje (19.6, 4.8, 1.8 per AOTW) is an NBA prospect who has the ability to create his own shot. I like UW-Madison as much or more than anyone in the B1G.
