MOMENTS OF CLASS
64th minute: The wonderful double-save from Red Devils GK Andre Onana.
THE POSITIVES
In the absence of goals, I thought United defended superbly throughout the match and the effort and influence with the ball was there early. There were some satisfactory individuals performances, but in a nil-nil draw? Nothing special.
THE NEGATIVES
The major theme offensively for Manchester United today was its inability to convert scoring chances throughout the match, especially in the first 45 minutes. I thought UTD had too many corners to not score. 11 corners? Must put one in. I could never criticize the team defensively whilst having a clean sheet.
WHAT THE PUNDITS SAY
I agree with the Premier League Morning’s crew + guest assessment on United probably letting a result get away from them today.
MUFC STAT OF THE WEEK
Sadly, this week’s stat check worked against the Red Devils. Look at the match former United GK Dean Henderson had…
FINAL TAKE
Surely a mixed bag today. On one hand, United defended expertly and earned a point away. On the other, scoring chances were missed and now the club’s goal scoring questions are back in-play whilst acknowledging major set-piece scoring deficiencies. Erik ten Hag and the players have work to do.
