THE POSITIVES

  • Amad: Just a special performance from Amad today. Really claimed his place in the squad. Simply, he creates and has influence.
Amad was class today.

  • de Ligt: Some early defensive miscues aside, I though he got more of the match as it went on and his set-piece goal was class.
Big day for de Ligt
  • Onana: Anytime you keep a clean sheet and save a PK it’s a big day.
A clean sheet for the UTD GK
  • Rashford: Him scoring again and playing with the skill, panache and confidence he exuded today is immense for this club.
Manchester United on X
  • Bruno: Thought he was everywhere and was really into the match. Appreciated the effort today, as most days.
Man Utd Captain Bruno Fernandes

THE NEGATIVES

  • To be honest, and I’m a tough critic, I don’t have many negatives today. Dalot and de Ligt did have some transgressions defensively but a clean sheet is a clean sheet and 3-Nil is 3-Nil. From a gaming perspective, my Best Bet for MW4 was SOUMUN ⬇️2.5 and to succumb that position 96 minutes later was tough to take.

FINAL TAKE

Well it was a comprehensive result, wasn’t it? The 1st 45+ was sketchy but in the 2nd 45+ I thought Man Utd really established dominance and looked the part of a cohesive, team-oriented unit. There were some great individual performances surely but for me the most important thing was the club is scoring goals again. The Red Devils score more goals today than in the previous two matches combined. This was by far the players and manager Erik ten Hag’s best performance of the young Premier League season to-date.
