LAS VEGAS — Let’s just cut the BS and go there, expressly: My performance last week was abhorrent and a disgrace to the standards I set for myself personally and for Darkseid Sports professionally. To go 2-5, miss the Top Choice and be out in Survivor actions in Week 1 means I have to get better.
Having that said, here are my 7 Best ATS and Total positions for this weekend in College Football and the National Football League:
— Florida +4
- It’s the Gators for me Saturday afternoon. I’ve been waiting to administer comeuppance to A&M since failing as home dogs to Notre Dame and that check comes due here. Lagway in for Mertz. I don’t respect the A&M QB and thus by default the offense. Getting better than a FG here, in The Swamp, I’ll try UF here in a must have game for maligned HC Billy Napier.
— Packers +2.5
- In the early slate on Sunday I’ll be on the Green Bay Packers. Lambeau Field opener. Who the hell are the Colts? For all this talk about Malik Willis, I’m not even sure Jordan Love isn’t playing. I could also see Sean Clifford getting some run in the event JL10 doesn’t play. It’s scary, it’s sketchy…I get it, but I’ll take whatever points I can get with the better roster here.
— Jaguars -3
- What is the angle for Cleveland? Honestly now? What, you hope Creepy Watson will be better? Have to believe JAX will be mad about last week and this is the chance to make good on it. I’ll lay the three at home here.
— Titans +3.5
- Full discourse: Titans almost made my Top Choice for this week. This is a play against the schedule and situation of the New York Jets. Short week, cross-country travel + travel south, early game, getting better than a FG? Done deal. I also need to see proof of life from NYJ to not be this skeptical. It’s TEN for me Sunday.
— Broncos +2.5
- I look at in-part like you if you bet Green Bay as a 2.5 point home dog then you have to have Denver too in the same role. I don’t know how good Pittsburgh is. Atlanta and Kirk Cousins were terrible last week. This is a brutal schedule spot for PIT, as I’m on TEN citing similar NYJ travel situations. Broncos at home in the Sunday late afternoon window is +EV dating back to the mid-to-late 1970s and I’ll rely on such here. It’s Denver.
— Atlanta/Philadelphia Over 47
- Monday Night Football from Philadelphia brings us the Falcons and Eagles and I’m calling for points here. PHI showed professional offense and advanced weaponry on a terrible field in Brazil vs Green Bay. ATL & its QB showed less than nothing last week, so by default this week has to be better. The situation just screams points to me. I’m in at 47.
TOP CHOICE:
Indiana -3
- Saturday afternoon in the Rose Bowl, you best believe I’m on The Hoosiers as a three point selection here. I had this a down year for UCLA: all-in to beat Hawaii on 8/31 and haven’t been seen since. Maybe the extra time off is a hindrance? IU has looked strong and a pleasant surprise in the B1G thus far. Let the good times roll and I’ll back IU laying three.
